A little about the gal behind the camera..
Why I got started?
"It was my escape" seems like such a typical thing to say, but if we're being completely honest being behind a camera truly was an escape. I was a troubled teen completely off balance in high-school, and then I was a single teenage mom with no idea what or how to do anything. My mom bought me a camera because I was creative but passionless... up until I heard that shutter sound!
& Why I'm still here?
Balance. Confidence. Happiness. Peace. All from a sound? No, but it definitely starts there. In the last 9 years between all the discouraged phases and four cameras later, nothing.. and I do mean nothing brings me the calmness that being behind a camera does. Why would anyone not still be doing something like that? I genuinely enjoy meeting the people, and going the places I have, all because of the camera in my hand.
Why Barefoot Balance?
Other than the fact I'm barefooted every chance I get, the word barefoot screams the words raw, natural, free, & open... Don't we all crave the feelings of the words you just read? I'm confident in saying you will get the raw and open version of me and I thrive to be the safe place for you to feel the most natural and free version of yourself in whatever session(s) we do.
And Balance? Couldn't we all use a little of that? I'm also a Libra, so weighted scales are what I'm made of. I believe there's balance in everything we ever do, but I also believe sometimes we need something to ground us so we can balance ourselves out.
